NFL Football News - 28 October 2007
Patriots crush Skins 52-7 - The game really wasn't as close as the score lets on. The Patriots pulled their entire offense off of the field ar 45-0 and their second and third stringers pounded it down the field for a 52-0 lead. The Redskins looked powerful on their last drive of the game for a meaningless final touchdown. Joe Gibbs looked pissed. This game was a great wake up call for the skins. Pats remain undefeated at 8-0. Next week is the big showdown in Indianapolis (also 8-0). It looks to be the game of the year. Prediction: Patriots rout Colts 45-31.
Colts pound Caroline 31-7 - Colts improved to 8-0 despite a lackluster 31-7 win over the Panthers. Vinnie Testeverde left at halftime with Tendenitis in his right achilles tendon. I don't think we will see anymore of Vinnie this year aand possibly forever, even though he is the best QB in Carolina these days.
Philadelphia 23 - Vikings 16 - The Vikings proved again this week that they are the best division 2 college team in pro football. Their quarterback situation is dismal. Jackson did not play, Kelly Homcomb hurt his neck when sacked and the Vikes brought in their third stringer Bollinger, who played well between the 20 yard lines. The Vikes coach is a deer in the headlights these days. His record is worse than Les Steckel. When the Vikes hired him he was called a genius. He looks like something out of Lil Abner with his stupid hats and should be fired immediately. McNabb and Philadelphia played sluggish for most of the day but they can still find the end zone as long as Westbrook keeps playing for them. Westbrook did it again against the Vikes with 2 TD's, one rushing and one on a nice catch and run. The Vikings again used Adrian Peterson sparingly as they continue to play for next years draft (along with St Louis and San Francisco).
Tennessee 13 - Oakland 9 - Tennessee improved to 5-2 despite Vince Young doing nothing (6 of 14 for 42 yards). The Titans rushed for 192 yards and that is all they needed. Lendale White had 133 of them. On the other side of the ball, Culpepper looked like himself today with no touchdowns and 1 pick.
Detroit 16 - Chicago 7
Pittsburgh 24 - Cincinnati 13
NY Giants 13 - Miami 10
Cleveland 27 - St Louis 20 - St Louis continues to suck.
Buffalo 13 - NY Jets 3 - Jets continue to suck.
San Diego 35 - Houston 10
Jacksonville 24 - Tampa Bay 23
New Orleans 31 - San Francisco 10 - 49ers are not back just yet and are smart enough to play for next years draft as the AFC will win this years SuperBowl.
